The shot above was shot a few minutes later than the one below.
With the one above I did actually clone out a lot of the rocks in the tidal pool to try to make the view flow more easily on the eye. Yeah I know it's "cheating" but at least I'm upfront and honest about it.
This is an amazing shot! As you said, this photo is very easy on the eyes, and the landscape is absolutely beautiful!
The detail that I noticed first, and that was most appealing to me, was that the sunset and the clouds mirrored in the water; it adds perspective and emotion to the photograph. From the point of view of the viewer, the landscape is never ending -- this is a great touch to the photo; especially the way the river goes out to the horizon. The only critique I have is on the cliff off to the right; it seems a bit dark to me, but it is understandable due to the lighting conditions -- even then you can still see immense detail, even down to the grass on the top of it! Although the expansion of the landscape was the most appealing detail to me, I really like the shapes in the sand at the bottom of the image; that just adds to the natural effect and excellent detail of the image. The colors in this image convey a sort of warm feeling, yet relaxing at the same time.
Generally photographs capturing landscape aren't very original, but I feel that with the amount of detail captured, and emotion conveyed in this photo, it definitely deserves 5-stars in originality!
As for technique, one of the things I noticed is that the attention of the viewer (or at least myself) is immediately drawn to the middle of the picture; this could be both a positive and negative thing. As said in some of the comments, the clarity of this image is impressive, even down to how clear the reflection of the clouds are!
Half of the photo - if not more - on DA are "cheated". x°D Nothing to be ashamed of. They did the same with old, analogical cameras, just with other instruments.
Beautiful shot. The colours are gentle and natural, differently from what happens with a lot of sunset's shots all around. I love both natural and enhanced ones, but this is very pleasant to look at, relaxing. The way the smooth water contrast with the rough sand and the cliff is especially beautiful, and the reflections of the clouds are perfectly preserved by the photo.

Great shot, my friend!
